Squalene is unsaturated hydrocarbon composed of 30 carbons and 50 hydrogens (C30H50), which is generated in our bodies by small amount. When we intake squalene from outside, it is not fully absorbed but drawn out, attached to waste materials.

The sharks living in the deep sea, over 500 - 1,000 m from the sea surface where sun ray cannot reach, have exceptionally strong livers. More than 25% of the body weight is that of liver, of which over 70% is liver oil called squalene.
